Is Soy Good For You or Bad For You?

I've been drinking soy milk for years! After reading this article my beloved soy chai's are no more! See for yourself by clicking on this link. The article is excellent, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

yes, agreed, but all these controversies are elitist and 'first world'. in poor countries, people still kill for a grain of rice!!

No argument from me! There's bigger issues to be concerned about. We need a planet upon which to grow rice. Have you seen or can you see the movie by ex US Vice President Al Gore called An Inconvenient Truth? Its about global warming - very educational. All the best.

poverty in countries is also government sponsored. they spend millions of dollars on missiles but there is not even one dollar for agriculture or health care. look at india. a classical example of government sponsored poverty!! if you protest you are killed.

This really isn't my area of expertise. I'd love to offer something but have only a viewpoint to offer - and they are a dime a dozen! Take care.

As someone who has a soy sensitivity, I found this article very refreshing. There is a growing number of reported soy allergies in the Western world - so it is obvious that it can be just a problematic as dairy, for the reasons outlined in the article. Trouble is, soy is SO hard to avoid. For example, most bread contains soy flour - including some organic ones!

The article is great isn't it! I've been a mad soy chai latte fan since I gave up coffee. Well that's the end of that! I drink Rooibos tea like it is going out of fashion, but I need something 'milky' in it. I'm now adding organic oat milk and that works. Rice milk was too thin, but the oat milk is more like soy. I'm going to look for something on dairy to post!

soy or no soy, it has been repeatedly proved that the human body performs better with just basic nourishment in the form of food. low calorie intake and daily exercise is all that is necessary. old civilisations like india and china boast longevity based on this; they have never had adequate medical facilities and so simple diet and daily work keeps them going. the food and drug industries are giants and well connected. they live off one each other. eat chocolates and visit the dentist, eat refined food and get diabetes, get obese and go to the slimming clinic, and so on. its all marketing and advertising. the list is endless. i have researched this for decades and visited the poorest communities as well as the richest ones and seen this for myself. economically poor rural communities have excellent health. if there is more longevity in the western world, its just that there is better medical aid available, especially for accidents. bottomline: the less you eat, the better.
