Keeping Motivated to do your Tibetan Five Rites
A recent survey of people who learnt the 5 Rites around 2 to 3 years ago, shows that there are some who wouldn't miss a day - others who do them when they can - others who sort of stop and start their practice - and finally those who stopped within a month of learning them.

It would be interesting to see if that pattern ie. a stop and start pattern occurs not just whilst doing the Rites, but in other areas of their lives too. How life changing a discovery it could be, if someone were to discover that they do the same thing everywhere else!!!

yes, those who do the rites regularly without missing a day also have/develop a certain discipline in life. i feel they live with a passion and a meaning, and realise that everything on earth can be bought except time!

I love that last sentence of yours! You have summed up exactly what I feel about the Rites and the metaphor they offer for the way we 'live' our lives. How long have you been doing them? Did you learn from one of the books on the market?

I have a hard time staying motivated because I never feel very well (overheated and queezy)performing the 5 rites. Have you ever heard of this before? I would like to continue working on this.

Yes I have heard of this, but fortunately it isn't very common. What you should do is start by eliminating the spin and doing the other four. If that fixes it, then you can do an alternative to the spin which I can tell you about if you need then. If you are still feeling nauseous I would then try cutting out each Rite until you find the one or ones that are causing the problem. When you have identified which one/ones are causing the problems, get back to me. Good luck.
